Bachelor is the first professional degree, which can be usually received after six semesters. The programme is divided into modules.
Each module contains thematically and chronologically synchronized courses, which provide a common learning objective and includes at least one integrated exam. Module is intended to provide definite competencies and course content.
Successfully done work is honored with a fixed number of "ECTS points" (or "credit points"), which are added in the course of studies. Per semester 30 ETCTS points are to be acquired. At the end of the Bachelor programme 180 ECTS points should be obtained. Therefore the exams are not taken in block in the middle or at the end of the course, but are semester accomponying.
The Bachelor degree is awarded depending on the subject: for example, Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (BA) or Bachelor of Science in natural sciences (B.Sc.). A later Master degree may complete the Bachelor research or application oriented work.
